Hi all,
Recently purchased a 1993 MX5 and wanting to upgrade the speakers to a pair of nice splits.
Do anyone here know what size speakers I can fit in the door panel? I am thinking of going 6.5" split.
Thanks in advance...
Tony

i "think" that the NA models had 6" in the doors. i know the NB's have a 8" hole. but yeah 6.5s should fit in there snug
MY07 NC, Mazdaspeed Body, Ohlins, Full GWR Exhaust, 17x9 RPF1's, 4.1FGR and lots lots more

Thanks guys!!!!
Currently just a cheap aftermarket CD player... and the standard speaker... which is old and cracked... sounds crap!
So I am just thinking of installing a set of splits while the alarm is going in this weekend with central locking.
I am thinking about the jaycar splits... looks good and affordable.
So my 1993 limited ed mx5 is NA3 is that the correct model?

For cheap and not so nasty, go the Jaycar 6.5" splits. Will take no effort to install and sound decent.

I got some focal splits cheap and i'm pretty happy with them running off the deck (no amp).
I'm sure if I threw a small amp in they'd be even better.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

All 1989-1993 1.6 MX5s are NA6 chassis models.
1994-1997 1.8 MX5s are NA8 chassis models.
If you have a green Limited Edition then we would probably term it a (1993) NA6 LE.
Read this thread for more info -> clicky.
Hope this helps.

P.S. Another vote for Focal splits - helped win an SQ award in the old girl.

ahhhh ok.
I have a red 1993 limited edition... Is it true only 100 of these in OZ?
picked it up a few days ago... its in good condition, but require some suspension work... and front headlight adjustment as it doesn't sit flush with the bonnet. Is this something that can be easily adjusted?
