Hardtop Seals

Howdy all,

I bought myself a second hand hardtop a while ago that had no seals and the window wasn't in it. I bought what believed to be a full set of seals from a Mazda dealer and dropped the roof off to be painted last week. They rang me yesterday to tell me that the paint is done but one of the seals is missing.

Its my understanding that the hardtop need four seals, yes? One on each side window, one around the back window and one at the back, where the roof sits on the car. Or have I missed something here?

Jeo,
I just checked my hard top and you have the correct number of seals.

Perhaps the panel and paint people thought that the front of the hardtop which meets the top of the windscreen has a seal? My hard top does not have a seal there but one could easily be convinced that there should be a seal there.

For the benefit of others, yes it has four seals but some have more than one part to them. The one between the back of the roof and the car has 4 parts to it, while the one between the window and the roof has two.
