16 X 7+25 fit on a NA? HELP ASAP!
Hey guys need some help fast.
Got an NA that has been lowered and have a chance to upgrade to the above wheel specs but am not sure if they will fit? Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

16 X 7+25 fit on a NA? HELP ASAP!
At a guess I would say no, but send a PM to zoomzoom (Tim).
From memory I think he tried 15x6.5 with +25 offset and 195/50 tyres and his rubbed slightly.

I believe for that size and offset, getting Coilovers, wheel alignment and rolling the guards should fit them in.
Any pix on the wheels?

I have 16 x 7 +25 on my NB. My car is lowered with 205/45/16 and I didn't have any issue whatsoever. I didn't even get my guard rolled, I reckon on NB, when you are getting close to +10 then you'll have scrubbing issues. I'm pretty sure they will be fine on your NA as well, I highly recommend this offset, they will sit flush with your fender without resorting to any suspension or bodywork mods.

Yea I will go and try them on, everything I read in this section of the forums reads +35-42 but then when i read on the us forums they are all +10-15 with no issues so its very confusing:(
I purchased my last wheels (gram lights that will be for sale pending the fit of these wheels) on the recomendation of +38 and they look great but have decided to go for some 16's because I got a good set of 16" rubber not doing anything + i like the wheels...
Will post some pics once they are on....
Pics of the car atm are available in the FS section under 15" gram light 57.... Should be on the first page.
thanks!

16 X 7+25 fit on a NA? HELP ASAP!
I've run 15x6.5 +17 on an NA with 195/50r15s with the suspension set very low and 2+ degrees of neg camber. Guards needed rolling a bit to do it but otherwise OK. The 16 X 7+25 that you're talking about would be about the same fit. Depending on tyre size you might get away with a little guard rolling, and you might need the guards pulled out 10mm or so, but it's nothing extreme.

That's because the concensus here is that Mazda knew what they were doing, whereas the Yanks have an attitude that if something is worth doing, it's worth OVERdoing.
Yes widening the track is a good thing and makes the car corner better, but go too far and you hit the law of diminishing returns where you gain less the more you modify it, and you face handling and alignment issues.

How much lower is it from stock?
some camber and rolled front guards will do the trick, depending on if the car is pretty low or not.

I used a set of wheels for a trackday which were 15 x 7, +24 with 195/55R15 tyres and these JUST missed the stock guards without rolling and about 2 deg neg camber. The only rubbage they had was on the guard liners and the highest mounting tab for the guard liner on the front guard, I just bent that one out of the way. I think that was mainly cos they had too higher profile tyres on them.
If all else fails you could always just roll the guards, a bit of street sign pole can get this done pretty quick

Thats how low the car is. They are 15x6.5 +38 I would like to put on 16x7 +25 with 205 rubber.
I think I have solved my problem tho, the guy has agreed to come let me try em on. He reckons his mate had the same size on his Mx5 with no probs we will see how true that is. I will let you guys know the outcome as its not happening u till friday. I have put my hand up for em but if they rub too much i can back out.
Where can i go to get the guards pumped? I thought this was a expensive/big deal?
thanks for the input!

if thats the guard gap WITH the new shoes, it will not rub. Unless your shocks are shot or something.
Either way, if you want to be safe and roll your guards, i can assist you for a small fee, And i can come to you for a fee (depending how far away you are).
Oh and you wont need your guards pumped with that offset, i barely pumped mine with 0 offset.

OK cool, we will see how we go.
MX5HVN if i do need them rolled I will give you a call.... the images you are looking at are with the 15's on not the 16's.
In regards to the 16's looking huge i agreed they do look big (and not that good) but I think with the style of rim I am buying it will look good as they are a 3 pice with a chrome lip.
If i don't like the way they look I can always buy another set of gramlights:D
