jeff is the man - have you seen is throttle body setup he build for the 2.3 duratech. farkin amazing he improved on cosworths design.

I assume those to hex head bolts are a direct fit for the OEM calliper bracket, they just seem small compared to the load they must secure. Perhaps they just look small in comparison to that monster calliper.

Hi Tim, happy to tell....back in the day my carby fed rotaries were tuned by Peter Nankervis (Sandgate Dyno-->Mercury Motorsports-->Redcliffe Dyno now I think). The RX-8 and 626 don't require tuning...well the RX-8 doesn't at this point in time anyway :wink:

. The Renesis NC will be tuned by Phil Laird (Graphic Skills Racing).

He has some very high quality products! If anyone here is into Duratecs he's the man to see about performance bits and pieces.

Yes, yes and yes, Dave. :mrgreen:

The bolts are all M12 x 1.75 Socket Head Cap Screws in 12.9 Grade (Hi-Tensile).

Well I trial fitted the front brake assembly today....this is how it went. :mrgreen:

Bare upright and hub.

Caliper bracket fitted.

Rotor fitted.

...caliper fitted :twisted:

.

The last test was to see whether the track rims (Enkei RPF in 18 x 8.5) would clear the brake assembly.

I couldn't have been happier with the result as there is plenty of clearance both radially and laterally....another box ticked.

The caliper brackets will be hard anodised before the car hits the track.

For the rest of the day I continued paring out the wiring loom. It's slow getting smaller.

It's going to need some work on the rears now to maintain that 50:50 weight distribution.

Almost looks like you are trying to show up your colleague who does brake kits on the side...

Will the stock MC displace enough to move those callipers without a metre of pedal travel, or do you have a cunning plan for that too?

If you get a chance, do some quick calcs on the sensitivity of master cylinder bore to brake caliper piston size and you will see where I'm going/gone :wink:

. It's not what you would expect...well it wasn't until I ran some numbers. Pedal travel is sensitive to areas other than piston area ratio, and I'm not talking about the pedal lever ratio either. Let me know what you think.

Not much progress to report :frown:

. Although I did pick up the Motec M800 from Phil Laird last weekend. :mrgreen:

The car got a bit of a wash when I was in Japan.

It's back on the RX-8 wheels for the time being.

Thats excellent Danny.
People in general don't appreciate how much work goes into a project like this, You should be really proud of what you have achieved.
I bet you can't wait to get it on the track

Yes I'm very much looking forward to getting it on the track. I just have a few other priorities at present.
