This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know if the 91 NA6's in that light blue colour have a clear? I assume not, but just thought I'd ask

I believe all NA6 colours are non-clear coat.

I had a boss who used to remind me that the definition of assume is that is makes an "ass out of you and me"
Most paints today have a clear coat though solid colours may not. To be sure about NA's and their various colours you would need to check either Mazda or one of the specialist painters such as the MX5 Factory. Would "you" ignore the manufacturers recommendation on the product?

MAZDA MX-5 MIATA PAINT COLORS

This info comes from a site called PaintScratch.com, sellers of touch-up kits and paint packages that match original factory colors. All I've done is compiled the paint codes for each year - it's up to you to check your car and see what matches.

You can find your color by simply opening up your driver door and, on the info sticker on the door jamb, looking for a two- or three-digit paint code.

There are some other special colors listed (late additions, limited-production, etc.) that I don't yet have codes for, or that I'm unsure of the code number for. They're listed "as-is" for the time being.

It looks like reds have no clear coat, as I suspected from my last polish, so I'll give it a go.

so what does suffix CLE mean on some of the reds? As can be seen from the list most if not all metallics are clear coated.

not withstanding the above list, iirc someone mentioned the nb8b had a clear coat, & i note that CLE is only evident in the nb8b section above, so may be it refers to clear coat or some kind of coating. BD's classic red is fine though as it's an nb8a.

Sorry everyone, I rang to order a box of TR3 this morning and the bloke said we can only get it from a retailer now.
Don't know the reason for this change of mind.
Cheers
