It usually works the other way with magazine reviews of products - they offer to review the items in return for paid advertising from those reviewed.

X 1 in that boat, personally I wouldnt be prepared or go to the effort to swap coilovers just to test the other brand. Happy camper with flex, perhaps someone from a mag would be willing to do it, as you mentioned.

FWTW, when i was shopping for coilovers and some other stuff; i dropped in to buddy club.
They didnt have any stock for the mx5, although they had one coilover on display. Whilst inspecting the build design and quality of it, it was nothing like tein. There customer service was terrible when trying to get information and order other bits and pieces.

Until someone can prove they are superior then Tein when it comes to all aspects; ride comfort, handling quality, reliability & cost, my opinion of buddy club products for 5's wont change.

I'm happy to test a set and compare them to my tein flex.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Buddy Club coil overs are totally different to the BC Racing out of Taiwan.

I sell the BC Racing at my work, Wholesale Suspension.

We have sold in excess of 275 kits now over 2 years now and have honestly only had three come back for warranty issues. (one snapped spring, which I have seen a Tein do also, and the other two were WRX's slammed making rear end knocking noises) surprise surprise.

The BC Racing coil overs I feel are not a compliant as the Teins, but the Quality is fantastic, I have personally sold over 100 Tein kits over the last 5 years and they are the top notch gear, but everyone wants to whinge and bitch about prices, so we started to look for a more suitable brand that still wouldn't bring our name down as a whole.

We bought a pulled down almost every major brand, D2, HKS (sh*t), K-Mac, Buddy Club and some others, we settled with the BC Racing for a reason.

Quality of build, comfort, most choice in parts, serviceable, able to be re-built, looked sexy (good to market) can match any spring rates we want. at first we had a few issues with some brake line brackets and ABS lines not being put on and the like, but as sole (official) Australian distrib for these kits, we sorted that all out very quickly.

Now You can love Tein's as much as you like (and I do) but when something is half the price (honestly) and still great bang for your buck and fully supported locally here in OZ, which are you going to choose.

Please don't knock em too much till you have tried them, There is some real crap out there in the coil over market but I can say that BC Racing is not one of these brands.

(I am not ranting on this for sales figures either, just an informed person giving his opinion rather than an informed one)

End Rant!

Cheers Josh

I wouldn't buy another set of Buddy Club again. Their customer service in Australia is pathetic. I ordered a specific model, got supplied another, and they didn't even supply a set of adjustment spanners.

x2 :D

But you might find $1000 a set a little unrealistic.

I'd jump on them for $1400 from Wholesale Suspension...

Sorry Guys,

At the moment Wholesale suspension is not a sponsor of this forum and as stated I was not in it for sales.

I am looking into sponsorship at the moment but nothing is set yet!

You are right,

The price is around the $1390.00 mark

could do a lot better for bulk orders.

Please wait until we decide if we are sponsors.

Cheers Josh
