clutch slave cylinder leaking after engine wash

hi guys,

hope i can get some help on this one....
after i washed the engine bay with a pressure washer, let it dry and drove off...clutch was fine for 10min.
then the clutch pedal kept getting stuck on the floor with no pressure.
After i had a look, the clutch slave cylinder is spewing fluid when i push in the clutch.

here is a pic where the clutch fluid is spewing out from:

i dont know if the pressure washer blew something off the end of this little metal pipe and thats why its leaking? or if the slave cylinder has simply failed?

A bit hard to tell from that photo, but if memory serves the rod that extends from the rubber boot/bellows pushes against the clutch actulator and disengages the clutch when the pedal is pushed. I would suggest the fluid is leaking between the rubber boot/bellows and the rod. In other words the slave cylinder is in need to replacement or a rebuild. I think the part costs around $80 new and takes about 45min to replace.

I ran a Repco Rebuild kit through mine after removing and cleaning it properly ...

(disassemble, soak in Kerosene, check for pitting or wear...)

Assembled with PBR Rubber grease and primed with fluid.

QUick blled and I've not looked at it again !

oh yea, the repco kit cost $17

Worth a try to start with i think ....)

i was mainly wondering if the push rod is meant to have a stopper on the end of it ... or is it normal as in the photo?
because the fluid really is shooting out (even reaching the gearbox)...it is NOT a steady trickle.

Alternatively I just bought a new slave cylinder for around $40 from the local suburban brake shop. They must be a common fitment cos they had plenty in stock.
