Hi Guys
On replacing my Brake lines with MX5 CENTRE BRAIDED LINES i have found the rear hard line nuts to be rounded off and frozen on by a previous fool. The bloody Front was FINE!!!
Can i use Vice grips to try and undo them??
Can you buy replacement hard lines??
Should i just leave the old lines on there and take it to a Brake Centre and get them to replace the connections??
Anyone idea on cost for this?
Any Help much appreciated..

Frozen Hard Brake Line Flare Nut!! How to fix??
Use a centre punch on the nut from a few different angles to try break the thread free. It may help to loosen it.
Also, I recommend you get a set of flare nut spanners or what ever you call them. But it might be too late for that.
Good luck

Frozen Hard Brake Line Flare Nut!! How to fix??
I'd prolly go to a brake place where they'd cut the lines just short of the nuts, monkey wrench the old nuts out ( ), put on new nuts, re-flare the lines , etc

Frozen Hard Brake Line Flare Nut!! How to fix??
2 Methods you could use but require special tools.
a) Nut splitter which may damage the thread or probably squish the connection.

b) Cut off the end of the brake line and use a fastener extractor.

I recommend you take it to a brake specialist before you do more damage. I do not recommend using the 'monkey wrench' tactic as that will certainly do more damage!

You did not mention if the car was driveable, Vice grips certainly work well and a little bit of heat on the nuts might assist- try without heat first. Hard brake lines and flaring etc can be done quite readily and will not be too expensive.
