If you've not already seen the following then it might be worth a look:

Essentially, the MSPNP is a considerable spend if you're only seeking to improve air flow by removing the slightly restrictive NA6 AFM. Replacing it with a S4 or S5 RX7 AFM & transplanting the MX5 AFM internals to it would be more economical. However, if you want & will use the headroom the MSPNP will give you to do other things then that's a different story.

Yeah, I have plans, but they will take some time to come to fruition, one step at a time, a MSPNP is one of those steps.

A good CAI where I don't have to cut holes or make up elaborate heat shields works for me. I won't see track time so the air diverter over the radiator is not so essential for me, If cooling does become an issue, then another step will most likely be an alloy radiator.

Cheers

Sounds like you need a ducted headlight cover &/ or TSI.

I have a ducted headlight cover and keep getting water in the headlight so I have removed it for the moment.

Hmmm...I wonder if it is more to do with the headlight not being sealed correctly or rubber seals are gone rather than due to the headlight intake cover...? I have had my headlight intake covers for close to 10 years without water going into the headlights. 8)

I think its cause the vent is directly above the bulb when closed.
Should there be a rubber seal as from memory there is none...

I've also wondered about buying a JR CAI due to the questions of the legality of pod filters in Australia.

Is there much in the way of aftermarket airboxes for the NA except for the Jackson Racing one?

i don't think the JR CAI featured in this thread falls into the category of exposed pod filter, which i believe potentially can present a legal problem

I didn't mean the JR CAI was an exposed air filter. My car came (2nd hand) with a pod filter.

Any airbox that exits at roughly the right spot can be made to fit without too much effort. I've currently got one out of a V8 VN Commodore in my NA. Also have a bigger/better flowing V8 VS unit sitting there, just waiting for a little motivation on my part before it goes in.
