Guys, has anyone got any feedback or advice on Tein S-Tech springs?

I have the NC 2005 limited edition model. Am i right in thinking that the springs are the same as all the NC models and its just the dampers that are Bilstein on mine?

I have a set of whiteline adjustable swaybars on order and was thinking of adding these springs to lower it as "to me" they seem pretty high as standard!!

Any advice on if this is a good idea or not?

i'd do a bit of research re spring rates and what would match it well.

i have eibachs with my bilsteins.. feels close to stock actually, not as stiff as i thought it would be.
i can't brain today.. i have the dumb..

recently had a wheel alignment done & discussing things suspension was recommended the S-Tech springs to work with the billies on our '05 LE, the spring rates in the S-techs are comparable to the stock springs, only difference is they sit lower :)

Thanks a lot guys, appreciate everyones help so far, so would you say with the Tein Springs (not including the swaybar as i know that that this alone will drastically improve the body roll resulting in better cornering :D ) that the only difference i will notice is the ride height?

as far as ride comfort, yes, that was my take on it.........I was advised to stay with the Bilsteins & just change springs, was also told that the addition of a slightly stiffer rear swaybar (adjustable whiteline) would be sufficient for the way I use our car & that the factory front swaybar was more than adequate as it is...........going any further would then start to impact on the ride quality the car enjoys now. Personally, I'm just going a step at a time till I get the car where it's great for me & what I do (club runs through twisty mountain roads & the occasional track day) without killing off the easygoing nature on long drives.

Small world Mark- I'm the ebay dude you emailed.

Like what I was saying, I reckon the NC would sit better on eibach springs than the tein. At first I thought I should give it a bit of time for the Teins to settle, as it is sitting quite high on the front. But it's been 2 weeks now and the front has not drop any lower.

Cant fault the handling though.

Just out of interest- where did you order the sways from? Mania?

Hmmmm, that certainly throws a spanner in the works now!! Appreciate your comments though. So you said around 2cm drop on the front and 3cm on the rear, that aint much is it. And you would have thought that if they were to settle 2weeks would have been plenty of time.

Do you mind me asking what the cost of fitting the springs where, so i have an idea?

And has anyone got any ideas on the cost of the Eibach springs? As i really do want to drop it around 40cm.

The swaybars phil i ordered from Pedders Suspension near me, but have to wait for them on order!

Mark- fitted the springs with the help of a mate. FYI- Mania quoted another mate $200 for installation on his NB.

Was reading through the specs of the Teins before I brought it- the front should have dropped by 35mm, and rear 30mm. Still waiting for the 15mm drop on the front.... One interesting thing is that the Teins were designed to fit on 18 inch rims (which I have).

As for Eibach- I remember there was a groupbuy on Ozmazda last year for $400 ($AUD was very strong) . Mania currently sells them for 550.

you can DIY the springs; fairly easy, just time consuming. make sure you have a spring compressor when you do it.

Hell everybody, I have just fitted the eibach pro kit 2 ? The car sits 1.5 inches lower on the front and 1.3 inches at the rear as quoted by eibach, approx 35 mm front and 33 mm at rear lowered. Centre of wheel to lip of guard is approx 345 front and 340 rear, I did have mazdaspeed springs which only lowered it by about 15 mm, I think the eibach have a smoother ride than the mazdaspeed. Another club member has the eibach (there are two sets of eibach, check the specs) and he is happy with them as well. I also looked at the teins on ebay BUT decided to get the eibach.

If you want Eibach's, you can import them from MX-5Parts for $375.25 delivered at todays exchange rate of 0.4951. A good price.

It should cost you $50 a corner to get them fitted if you don't want to do it yourself.

My King springs took about 2 months to settle to their final position. 340F / 330R. This really is a little low for the road. Paul's figures are the ones you should aim for.
I'm not too sure what the current King springs will drop the car, as mine were the first off the production line and the current ones may be higher.

AJ, I will be interested in seeing how your car handles with just the Whiteline sway on the rear and the standard sway up front. I know Chris (MX5Racing) has this setup with his race NC but he's running Tiens and can contol the firmness with them. I would think that it would oversteer like crazy which is why I haven't switched back to the standard sway for the track.

yep CB, I'll be interested as well, the Fulcrum guy did say that oversteer might be a problem with that scenario, but then I'd still have the option of either gettting a whiteline front sway, or going back to the standard one, depending on how I felt the improvements were going............1 step at a time :)

Ok Paul that's it! Now your car sits 15mm lower than mine! Yes I am happy with my Eibach's but they appear to be higher as it is 360mm to my wheel centres. I suggest you watch those speed humps now. Right, now I'll have to get a CAI and exhaust.......
