I would be going the .64
On a standard 1.6 it shouldn't become a flow restriction with a good dump pipe\exhaust and you will make great midrange power meaning you won't need to raise the factory rev limit. The harder you spin a stock motor generally the shorter the life span.
If you where going for huge power with a built 1.6 spinning to 8.5 -9k rpm or planning a BP upgrade in future I would say go the .86, or something bigger again.

disco potato on an AVO manifold ?
thanks jake.
long term plan is to stick with the 1.6, probably do rods and pistons , flow the intake manifold a bit, and stick in a b6t exhaust cam, and i won't be spinning it much past 7000rpm... i'm looking for a long term reliable engine making good (but not massive) power . 180-200rwkw, something like that.

/thread jack
Jake,
Maybe you can satisfy a curiosity of mine.
I have 2 T25 housings kicking around. One is a complete turbo with 0.64 ex
The other is a 0.49 ex and has been ceramic coated.
Would i be able to use the same turbine wheel and chra on the smaller housing?
From the looks of them, they measure the same, but I haven't had a chance yet to break apart the chra and try to fit it in the smaller housing.
Don't ask me about the trim of the wheel either, i think it's a 60 trim (the complete turbo came off a 180sx)...
/end thread jack
Currently I have the HKS kit Garrett T2 with a .48/.49 A/r and the thing spins its nuts off (try 6 psi at 2200 rpm, and is now holding 10psi to redline with EBC) but the intake temps are getting me down)
needs more intercooler

:
Is that the rear housing my old one?? It was a small .49 from a 180sx IIRC that was ceramic coated. Was a great housing for a bush turbo, but didn't fit the modern bb turbos I had (ie 2871r, DP)

Yeah it's your old housing buddy.
I haven't cracked the other CHRA (0.64 one) and tried to fit that impeller on it to see if it will fit.
Things have been a little busy.
The 0.64 is a bush bearing turbo too.

In that case there is a very good chance it will fit. Particularly if the .64 is from an older nissan or AVO kit.
