I don't see anything too ridiculous there. Sure the Beetle's fast and tight in the turns, but the bike is still faster in a straight line. Surely driving MX-5's has taught us that it's in the corners that you make up time. And that's clearly where the bike falls behind, as it can't handle as high speeds as a car in turns (unless you're a ridiculously good bike rider).

The acceleration on that beetle was abnormal!
