i am new to owning a MX5 (08 NC Roadster) , i am a motorcyclist 1st & MX5 enthuisist 2nd . one of my favourite stomping grounds on my Motorcycle is the Reefton spur , closely follewed by the Black Spur . the Reefton has top twisty corners through out & makes for Riding or Driving Nirvana , i recently been through there with my new MX5 it was great with the top down . i must recommend the area to anyone looking for a great drive , but just be mindfull to stay on your side of the road or a head on is very possible ..

Black spur is a great bit of road, however often spoilt by 4wds towing caravans doing 25kmh holding up a line of cars 30 long....

Shhhhhh don't tell everyone!
Reefton spur is an amazing drive! 40km of pure bliss, with only 1 strait section of about 400m!
Me and a mate sneak up there on a sunday arvo in our 5's and drive to Marysville (whats left of it) just before sunset, makes for an amazing drive and normally no traffic!
Black spur is like the monash freeway in comparison.

They are actually both pretty dangerous roads. The boy racers can easily come unstuck with consequences including police pinging the loonies. There are fantastic touring roads in Vic which allow for enjoyment of the car and the countryside such as the North West- Bright/ Beechworth / Mt Beauty etc and you can drive for some hours. Weekends on the Spurs are as bad as the Melb end of the GOR

Reefton's the one just out of Marysville, you climb up the hill out of Maryvillle, not towards Buxton, the other way yeah?
Great looking 02 BLACK NB8B, Tein S Tech Coils, Whiteline Adjustable Sways F&R, Carbing Alloy Rear Strut Brace ;)

Yeah thats right, I tend to drive the other direction on it. Drive east out of Warburton towards Yarra Valley and follow the signs. The good thing about leaving fromt he Warburton side is you can have a quick detour up Mt Donna Buang on the way
