I hope you know those Phillips Crystal Vision are not ADR approved (unless things have changed), just be a little careful because because Vic police gave me a once over and red flagged me in my TX5 a year ago.

These ones are ok, i asked around a bit. It's the next ones up of these that are illegal.

Glad you enjoyed the read :D and the road rager did a runner as i mentioned, was too late unfortunatly :frown:

Even thoughthose little mishaps happen, i look at the car now and smile 8)

Also, i am getting some rubber in the next few weeks and i am considering Yoko C-Drives in 185/60r14. What is a good price for these? Any other tyre i should consider? I have heard mixed opinions about the Aus spec 14" Re001, might steer clear of them.

c drives have been my tyre of choice for a couple of years, having had them on my 15's and my 14's as road tyres. they are a fantastic all rounder and very quite and comfortable, and great in the wet, but they are not really a performance tyre imho. the only other road tyre i have recent experience with are the potenza g3's which are fitted to my mazda 323 daily driver and imho they seem to outperform the c-drives, altho to be honest the 323 is a very different car so maybe it's not a fair comparison. but the g3's are fantastic on the 323, especially in the wet. they are superseded by the re001's but i managed to find a set at my local dealer 2 months ago so maybe he still has some stock... who knows. the re001's seem get mixed reports, some people love 'em some people hate 'em.

oh and to answer the actual question.... $120 a corner, iirc

Hmmm, it's definatly something to think about, seeing how cheap the re001 is... it may be a good option for something grippy. C-drives sound great but i want something a little more sticky, i have dríven an na6 with practically the same setup as mine, the grip was awesome :) I also want something good in the wet though, my girlfriend is a bit scared of wet conditions in cars, she as had one or two family members suffer due to this, she demands my new tyres be good in the wet :oops:

I dont think i will have any problems once i get the 15x8 6UL's :mrgreen:

I just had a search around for you, there isn't much in that size but I think i've found a good alternative 8)

BF Goodrich tyres are michelins, well they are the same company so should be good tyres and good in the wet. And they are made in the right size 8) Hopefully they aren't too expensive.

If it rains next weekend you are welcome to come over and put my re001's on and try them out and see what you think in the wet. As you said you know they are good in the dry maybe you'll find them ok. I don't blame Molly for being like that... If you can, in my opinion you should avoid re001's...

Oh and that first post of yours is awesome! Its a great read!

Where did you hear about the BF Goodriches? Do you know how they compare to the other perforance tyres out there and how they compete with price?

Try PP2 if you think RE001's are to slippery in the wet.

BTW You do know that you cant drive the same in the wet as you drive in the dry right??? It seems like a lot of people think you can get miracle rubber that treat the wet like its dry. Unless your willing to get one set of wet tyres and one set of dry tyres like motor sports then keep dreaming.

Even then F1-F3-M GT have to change their driving technique to suit the conditions.
