Hey guys,
I've just recently bought an awesome 2004 MX-5 SE NB30P4 and am looking at how I can connect my ipod and my GPS without having to do it through the cig lighter.
Each of them need the point and I don't want to have excessive amounts of wires because its a convertible.
Any ideas? suggestions?
Thanks

2004 MX-5 SE NB30P4 GPS and Ipod Question
Get a head unit or converter for the Ipod so you can plug it straight in. That has more benefits than just being able to charge it as you go.
As for the GPS - use the lighter socket. That makes it easier to remove when you park (leaving a GPS in view in a nice looking convertible is obviously not a good idea).

Hard wiring the plug for the GPS to any 12v power supply would be my preferred option. That way it always has power (I'm sure you could throw a switch in there somewhere if you didn't want it always on) and you only leave the plug hanging out of your dash when you take the GPS with you.
I'd also be looking for a new headunit with iPod connectivity if you're using it regularly, they aren't all that expensive.
If neither of those options take your fancy, I know you can buy off the shelf double adaptors for the lighter, but then your back with your original 'lots of wires' problem.
