Hey all,
i have a NB8B with KYB AGX shocks that i recently installed to standard springs. I was wondering what type of setting i should have? I really like the steering responsiveness and feel of full hard on 4 hards, but after a spirited run last night, it seems to respond differently at the limit. I appears to induce a bit more oversteer. Is it right for me to turn it down one notch at the rear such that it allows more weight transfer to the rear at corner exit?
or, should i tune the shocks in a completely different manner?
All i know is that you should tune your shock to your spring and ride height.

Steve, I never put front & rear the same damper setting. Mine is 4 upfront and 3 rear.

Tuning KYB AGX to stock springs
There's a couple of things to consider. The dampers will control the transients and the spring/ARBs will determine the steady state balance, that's when the weight transfer has occured and there's no damper involvement in cornering. Steady state should be biased towards understeer on stock springs/ARBs, which can be adjusted by alignment (have you had this done?). For transient, we general apply similar low speed damping to the rear as the front, even though the rear spring rate is lower. If you run 2F3R or 3F4R you should find the transients are fairly neutral.

I run KYB AGX shocks on my NA6. These have adjustment 1 to 8. I am also running vougtland springs with fatcat bump stops. It has been droped 25 front 35 rear with the front still a lower height than rear.
I set my shocks at 3 front and 2 rear for road use. I find this give good front end control and a netural style of cornering. This is with 28 psi all around and 1 1/2 deg neg camber all around.
For track I run 7 front and 5 rear with 40 psi hot all around. This gives slight overstear when the tyres are cold and netural when the tyres get hot.
