If you're getting Teins, factor in a spring swap or a sway bar rate change as well, they are nearly all heavily biased toward rear spring stiffness -> oversteer. Probably tolerable on the street, but potentially lethal on the track.

Yes the exchange rate on FM springs sucks, lucky I got mine whilst in the states - $24 shipping ftw :)

Alternatively you might be able to get K-Mac or someone to make up a custom set of springs for you in a similar rate though...

Heasemans would be the place for a Bilstein revalve. Ask the people who went to the tech night there (there is an old thread about it if you search).



Oh I don't know......

You might argue that there are those on here that do get wet with the thought of a good coilover :twisted: :twisted:

That's surprising. I had no problems with oversteer with my Aus spec superstreets on the track. At least none that were non-driver related. I've also then changed my rear sways and again have had no non-driver related oversteer incidents on the track.

They also do revalves of any other shock. They aren't limited to servicing Bilstein's, but I daresay they're fairly limited in what they sell. All info gleaned from said tech night.

Fair enough, I'm not sure what spring rates the Aus-spec ones use...

Does anyone know where you can get adjustable spring perches for reasonable price? (besides dodgy $30 ebay ones)

I am making my curr stock NB8A into a track only car and dont want to spend big $$ on coilovers till I get used to the car first and then have a better idea of what I want/need.

Thinking if I can get adjustable spring perches then can get new adj F&R sways to control the roll, use the std springs/shocks and use the adj perches to adjust the corner weighting for the track. Then after a few meetings will have a better idea of what rates/etc to get and can get new springs and shocks to suit and I havent (potentially) wasted money buying coilovers that werent suited.

The soft rates of OEM springs mean there's little point in cornerweighting.

Plus you would need custom perches, as the OEM springs are larger diameter than the standard (60 or 65mm) race springs you will be moving to.

Plus depending on which shock you eventually get, you may need different coilover sleeves. Or you may not need them at all...

If it's track car, and obviously you want it to be GOOD, get coilovers and don't cheap out, do it once do it right.

As you said you want a feel of the car... keep it stock.
