Painting a car satin black?

I know that a car wearing gloss black will show all the scratches and body imperfections.
But will a car painted satin black show scratches and body dings?
I know matt is different to satin (matt is plainer and am told looks bad).
Painting cars satin black is the 'in' thing to do nowadays.

I like matt black but you raise a good point about satin black. My initial view would be how reflective satin would be compared to matt especially if on a race track and looking over the bonnet.

When the paint finally dies (for whatever reason) from my old girl then something along the lines of the matt black on Matt's Time Attack NA is what my plan is:

I think considerably less than normal gloss/metallic.
It's becoming more and more popular in colder parts of Europe as satin/matt cars show up less imperfections from ice and various road debris (especially Autobahn asphalt bullets) damage.

Don't paint it satin, only works on some cars, but imo not the mx5.

And yes it's very "last year", go something glossy.

Also mind you, that Rauh Welt have re-painted both cars and they aren't satin/matte anymore, silvia is now champagne and the Porsche is turquoise.

Someone tell the owner that his offset is fail, I don't give a sh*t if this has a got 20b twin turbo, runs a ford 9inch diff, or can do the 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds, it's unacceptable.

To me, a matt black, or satin black car just looks like it's in undercoat and is waiting for the owner to get enough funds to get it painted properly.
I know that mat and satin are in fashion, but then again, it was a fashion to festoon your car in brightly coloured flowers too.
