The W.A. crew is keen to return the fantastic hospitality shown by the S.A. club on the way to the last Natmeet, unfortunately after the massive expense of the last natmeet a few of us are struggling to afford to spend so much again so soon.
I'd love to go and it would be great if we could encourage some of the younger MX-5 enthusiasts to attend.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I hear you - it's only a few hundred clicks shorter to McLaren Vale from where we are in the world! We've been putting money away for this one since the last one ... we had a blast and couldn't imagine missing it! And it would be even more fun if some more young 'uns would come along.
So when is Natmeet WA? If you give us enough notice we would be there without fail!

We really don't think a Natmeet W.A. will go ahead in the foreseeable future.
We planned to run a W.A. event based on the Natmeet format later this year as a bit of a test run but didn't receive enough interest to justify the expense.
I'm sure a Natmeet would encourage a lot more of our members to attend but have a Natmeet attended by mostly W.A. members and a handful of cashed up interstaters really isn't in the spirit of a national event.

Fired off our entry last week.
So far from the NSW Club I know of 9 cars heading down to McLaren Vale.
It's been too long since we've been to SA. Last and only time there on our first night in Adelaide 9/11 happened. We were glad to get out in the country and get away from all the hype.
And for those who don't know, the WA Club is now not hosting the following NatMeet in 2012. It has been passed to the NSW Club and will be held in Canberra.

That's convenient
I had been thinking about going for a while now but weirdly enough, this morning the boss saw me open an email from the club with the natmeet reminder at the bottom. He spun my chair around really quickly and I was expecting to get ripped for opening personal emails or something (not sure why that jumped to mind as we are allowed to...). He then told me a story about how when he was at uni, he took his Alfa spider (spelling?) that he had at the time to Adelaide as part of some run. He said it was easily the most fun he ever had driving the car and I should go on this one. He even offered the time off work
Still unsure about it, but good to know that the option is there.

Well there’s only two weeks to go before a few of us from the NSW group head off to McLaren Vale.
I’m really looking forward getting out on the road and down to SA but have one niggling little problem. Suspension.
My newly acquired Tein suspension has been at Fulcrum’s in Qld for the last week being assessed/revalved/rebuilt. If all goes well they will arrive back sometime towards the middle of next week, which will mean a swap out the weekend before we head off. No problems.
Now if I were a betting man I’d lay odds that they will arrive back late, probably two days before we leave, thus throwing up the dilemma as to whether I sit on the garage floor at night, install them and then only have one day as a shakedown trial.
One of the main reasons I got the coilovers was specifically for this trip, so I would have the ability to adjust the height and rebound of the shocks and get rid of bottoming out on the bump stops that I currently have with two up and a boot full of gear.
So only time will tell what suspension is in the car for the trip. Either way, we’ll be there, hopefully with bells & whistles.

I hope you get it all back in time CB. On the other hand, if you don't get it all back and fitted, I might be able to get somewhere nearer to your time at Willunga.

That shouldn't be a problem, your PP2's will slay my RE001's.
Seriously though, looking at Keith's post of a run up the hill, I recon there will be almost nothing between the times of the NC's as it doesn't look to technical, just point and shoot, so suspension won't come into it.

PP2s Never had them on this car. Currently have R1Rs fitted...now they grip
It looks like we'll be getting three (maybe more) runs at Willunga. It should be a fabulous hillclimb.

Phewww.
Teins arrived back yesterday from a full rebuild and revalve at Fulcrum’s and are back in the car.
I’m getting pretty good at pulling the suspension out and putting it back now, I think because the bolts are now hand rather than air gun tightened and I now know what to undo and what to leave. 2½ hours to remove and reinstall compared to my first up time of around 5 hours, though that included the sways.
The run to work this morning showed that they are still firm even on the second lowest setting but this is still way better than they were before the revalve on the lowest setting.
I'll need to lift the car before next week’s trip to McLaren Vale though. The fronts now sit virtually the same height as my old Kings but the rears are 7mm lower.
Really looking forward to the trip now, so clear the road, the NSW boys are coming to town.
