Hang on.... lemme get this straight....
-someone damaged Amanda's car
-said someone left a note stating that he/she is Andrew Edgar and left contact details accordingly
-Amanda henceforth rang Andrew
-Andrew thus explained that someone is playing a "joke" on Amanda

Am I right?

Yes, that is the turn of events although you are wrong on the last point. I am no way involved in damaging Amanda's car and I wouldn't be calling damage to a car a joke.

Agreed, that's why I put it in quotation marks.

Which means that the culprit has knowledge of Andrew's phone number and details... which really sucks!!! What a low life! Hope the karma train hits them head on

Wow, I opened this thread in another window just after Okibi's post and clicked reply then. I had planned to write something along the lines of... That sounds great that they left a note, but don't count your chickens before they've hatched. My mum found a note on her car after it had been hit in a carpark one day. The number ended up being a woman in Brisbane that didn't match the male name left, nor the plates left on the note. Police eventually concluded that she and the owner of the plates weren't involved.

I found the window sitting in the background just then, wrote my reply as above then got a message saying there had been new posts made and you may want to modify your post accordingly. Talk about an understatement, "you may want to modify your post", yes I do quite frankly. Wow do I feel bad now.

Basically that really sucks Amanda, I can honestly say I feel for you as I know exactly what you're going through and I hope that everything works out. As crappy as it is compared to not having to pay at all, $450 for a respray of a front bar is a pretty good deal. Also very strange that Andrew was named.

Still love the white NB.

The person who caused the damage not only did not leave their details but blamed another person which is even worse. You might conclude that the person who did this is fully aware that Andrew is connected to MX5's. It is even conceivable the person reads this forum and if so they have the chance to clear the slate.

Amanda (and everyone),
This is a bit of a lesson. I am reluctant to let slip too many identifying details which are not already publicly available. This is a public forum and anybody can collect up information on cars and owners and one day do something dastardly to you.
I reckon the damage to your car could actually be malicious (ie. done on purpose). That very person who did it could be sitting on their computer having a chuckle right now.
I would consider locking this thread.

Well it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out it's my car. All I had to do was say I had a white NB and ask a question about Gold badges.. BINGO! That must be Amanda's car.

Yes, there can't be too many white NBs (no hardtop, stock wheels, stock plates) with tatty gold badges (incl aerial surround and htop mounting plates) in Melbourne and a female caucasian owner (late 20s-early 30s).

See? Too much info.
