Jaycar DFA piggyback. Cheap and cheerful, about $140 inc the hand controller iirc (tho you need to build it yourself, comes in kit form). no additional sensors.

Link G4 Storm.
Full stand alone, plug and play (with supplied harness).
It does so much that most of which I'll probably never use. lol
Check it here...
http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine- ... s/g4-storm
As far as I'm aware, it was the first unit installed in an MX5 (hence the initial teething problems).
Not too sure on price, I ticked the option box with AVO when the kit was installed.
It does it's job I suppose, then again, once any 'high end' ECU is fitted and tuned properly you shouldn't have any problems with them.

I had an EMS dualsport on my BP turbo.
Did the job, power map was great, light throttle loadings left a bit too be desired.
Autronics SMC or SM4 are my preference. I tune stripped down versions of the SMC at work and use them a few times a week. They are a great ecu and awesome value for money. I have supplied a few for good mates and we have had great results.
One mate has one on a Datto rally car, N/A with ITB's and it is brilliant to drive. Another is on a turbo BMW and that is great as well.
I will be using Autronic on my big block ute with the ECU controlling N2O and eventually boost as well.

Currently running a Unichip fuel & timing piggyback fitted new & tuned in Dec '04 for $1295. Haven't had any problems at all, but you are limited with what you can do with these things, i.e. not able to remove AFM/ MAF. However, have a standalone Wolf3DV4+ which will do all that I need it to (MAP) when I upgrade.

No forced induction for me but I am running an Autronic SM4.
The Carco guys did the install for me and I know they use Autronics in all of their FI cars.
I'm assuming you're looking for options for your own turbo setup, but can I suggest finding your tuner and learning what options they can work with first. You may end up with the best ECU this way, but you don't want it if you have to ship the car just to get it tuned do you?

Motec M800 full standalone, standard sensors except for 3 bar MAP and additional inlet air temp sensor
Got it cheap at $2800 then $300 for a loom and $150 for the MAP
Tuning so far is $2k and it's far from perfect. Another $1k should see it right, however I'll wait till the exhaust and clutch go in before taking the next step.
Fantastic ECU so many features that actually work well, tuning as with any of them is where the cost is. It also depends of if you want 10/10ths or are happy with 9.5, personally it's all or nothing.

Any ecu is only as good as the tune it holds.
Speak to your tuner and see what he is most comfortable tuning. That is always a good reference.
A crap tune on an M800 will result in a car that drives worse than a perfect tune on an old screwdriver adjustable Motec.
Most aftermarket ECU's available today will work great if the tuner knows his stuff and you are prepared to pay for his time.
So a better question to ask may be who are you using to tune your ECU and what brand is it.

I was just about to fork out for one, but I picked the tuner first and basically let them pick the ECU to suit my requirements.

Its a secret
still early days for me, but atm i am tossing up between the Haltech, or a microtech. Tuner is pretty good with either one of these puppys, prefference would be a haltech if the price is right.

Haltech E8 with wideband
(one of about 30 race cars in QLD and NSW running an E8 - just a brilliant ECU for turbo or NA cars.)
