How to remove NA front bumper

So through a little more perseverance and a little less sucking at searching I found...

Juffa wrote:If you really want to remove the nose, try the following (based on a 1991 NA)

Remove plastic inner gauards under wheel arches, as this will give you acess to a number of screws/nuts holding the nose to the car body.

Remove plastic under engine tray, it is attached to the nose and taking it out will give you more room

Along the top edge of the nose, infront of the radiator there is a number of 10mm bolts holding the nose to the body. These need to removed as well.

I have probably forgotten something, but that should get you 95% of the way there.

Both from this thread

I'll be giving it a crack tomorrow, so here's hoping

The inner gaurds don't need to be removed, you need to undo a screw and pull them to one side to access a bolt on each side that holds the nose on. The undertry also can stay on. It's a pretty easy job, just takes a bit of time to get to all the bolts.
From memory: Take indicators out, remove bolts along the top including the ones at each end that sits horizontal by the headlights, bolts along the bottom, the 2 tie rods at each side one at the bottom corner of the bumper attaching to the under tray and the other up above that one tying the top corner of the bumper to the car, remove plastic screw securing inner gaurd, pull gaurd to one side then remove the bolts on either side under the inner gaurds (it took me a while to find this one and their fiddly to get to) Hope this helps a bit.

How to remove NA front bumper

Thanks guys. Took me a while to find the second bolt under the guard on either side but I got there. Eventually got the car up on stands and wow the game got easier, can't recommend that enough. Front bumper came off, repositioned the bonnet catch thing and got the new bonnet on. Had to leave it there to go to training but it should all be back together tomorrow.

Thanks again all :)
