Hey guys,
While tinkering with my 5 over the weekend I managed to find the control box to the immobaliser that is installed on my car. Its been driving me nuts that i have to disarm the immobaliser with the remote, then unlock the door with a key
So, I look up on the internet for anything about it. Looks like it is capable of driving a central locking circuit and a boot release! woot!
Jaycar here we come. I am thinking about installing one of these kits

Does anyone have stories/advice about installing keyless entry on an NA6? These kits were a fairly common install into the old Gemini but I don't hear much about adding them to old MX-5's
Cheers

Keyless entry into an NA6
I bought my NA6 with a Mongoose keyless entry already fitted. It drives me nuts! For some unknown reason, it doesn't unlock the doors consistently. When it does work, it'll mostly only unlock the passenger side but not the driver's door. And then when it comes to relocking the car when you leave, the passenger door will lock but not the driver's door. Manually locking the driver's side door causes the passenger door to unlock! I'm going to rip the bloody thing out altogether - it's more trouble than it's worth. Another job for a wet weekend.

Keyless entry into an NA6
I took photos when I did mine .. can't remember if I wrote anything up.
The trick is working out which jaycar wires you need to swap around otherwise if you use their keyfobs (and not reverse the signals from your alarm) the doors will lock with they're meant to unlock and vice versa.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
