Thats seriously hot. Now all you need is the mazdaspeed body kit and a turbo/supercharger :mrgreen:

Maybe a tad lower (I would), but doesn't look bad the way it is.

Ah, stop it!!! TBH, i love the Mazdaspeed front end, but i just couldn't justify spending that much on cosmetics (and i'd have no justifcation for such criticisms of females doing the same

). Down the track though, down the track...

Agreed, definitely, clearance is good, and the tire stretch would keep things rub free if i went lower.
Buuuut I don't want the compromises at the moment, too many uneven roads between home and everywhere else. The thing i'm finding with the NC is that the front end has good clearance, i have had no real scrapes with it (my old car i had to angle driveways regularly). However i have touched the diff a few times, it's quite low! The thing is, scraping under the front bar doesn't bother me that much, but touching the underside of the car I find very grimace inducing. Potentially a more expensive error i guess.

HAHA! Wow, that couldn't be further from the truth!

It's a wicked shot alright, Matt Mead is becoming somewhat of a legend behind the camera. (and he drives an awesome AE86 as well).

For those playing at home, this is turn 3 at Marulan... I love this corner! That being said, this is also the corner that brought me undone, as you should be able to read in the next issue of The Circuit :roll:

Easter Roadtrip
Had a fantastic Easter with the car. Friday began with an early morning run down 'the pass'

Then, we set off on our roadtrip - a nice drive around "Inner Western" NSW. Completed this loop:
Goulburn - Lithgow - Goulburn
(with plenty of side excursions thrown in).

The road from Goulburn through Crookwell still has some dirt sections, 3 south of Trunkey Creek, and one north of there. Highly corrugated dirt roads are NOT recommended for 2 seater cars with coilovers, really shook some fillings loose! Was down to 20km/h through most of those sections. Dust in one section was horrendous - it was a good thing that i clayed and waxed the car before i went away - all hosed away nicely once we got to Bathurst.

In fact, i'm taking credit for all the rain Western NSW received over the long weekend!

The pay dirt , if you'll excuse the pun, are sections of some of the sweetest winding b-road this side of the Oxley. Once they have sealed this whole stretch of road, it will be a must-drive.

On the Monday, we spent about an hour along one of the many great b-roads around Tarana in pursuit of the elusive "stirring the leaves" autumn car-shot. I've always wanted one of these! Quite happy with the results, it wasn't as easy as we expected.

FoSC 2009
On Sunday, we visited Australia's Temple Of Speed, Mount Panorama for the second annual Festival of Sports Cars. There was a HUGE variety of cars present, we were there to check out the event and to show some solidarity for our fellow hairdressers

Spotted this red NC there, not sure who the owner was though:

This little rocketship will be familiar to Circuit Clubbers.... yes, it destroyed everything in it's path at 'The Mountain' as well:

And Chris from MX5 Racing had some of his NC's there as well:

FoSC is a fantastic event, and one that could rightly become Australia's answer to Goodwood. For now, it's a grassroots event with some truly rare and unique metal and what appears to be good community support (but not many spectators). The main drawcard, and one of the main reasons i was compelled to check it all out, was a genuine 1955 D-Type Jaguar. One of only 2 genuine D-Type's in Australia, this is a car Jag made for Le-Mans in the 50's - only 57 Le-Mans D-Types are believed to have been made. Not only did I get to finally see one of these cars in the metal, and at full noise out of turn 1, but i also had a great chat to Sandra, half of the husband and wife team who have owned this car since 1967.

Incidentally, the D-Type was listed just outside the Top 10 most valuable cars in the world in a recent issue of Motor (the one with the RX8 SP on the front cover).

In summary; FoSC, don't miss it!

Looks like a nice trip to the Mount.
I used to live in Canberra and did the Bathurst run many times in FC, datto 1600 and MR2 Turbo as my Sister used to live there.

Matt, Did you run around the track? Steeper than you think.

The red NC is Red Baron's (aka John Burgess).
We have yet to meet at a Club event as the Baron has been otherwise disposed with home moving.
I'm looking forward to the challenge as I have heard there are many go fast bits attached to his NC.

I watched the saturday afternoon events. Great fun!

Surprised by the relatively small number of spectators. Plenty of seats and good viewing spots.

Besides the MX5s I loved the green Morris Minor. That's a classic!

Great weekend away if you like sports cars. (and Morris Minors).

Hey Russ,
unfortunately i was only present in a spectator capacity. I have been around the track a few times over the years as a passenger whenever the family passed through Bathurst, but have yet to lap it in anger. One day! Certainly, it is much steeper than it appears on TV.

Heh heh - he looked pretty good out there actually. Likewise Phil we have yet to meet... hopefully the stars will align sooner or later, my NC is itching to make some friends with some other NCs!
