Ollie's Poor Man's Sports Car
Hey guys, up for view is my JDM 1990 1.6 Roadster!
I've had it for around 6 months now, and due to lack of funds, kept it pretty much how I bought it. The only mod's I've done have been backwards steps to how i want the car - i ran up the back of someone, and the battery in the boot wasn't secured, so it's smashed against the back panel and caused a reverse dent in the body. Other than that, she came with coil-overs all round (no idea what brand), SSW 16 inch wheels, air filter, voodoo shift knob and some lame Sony head unit. Actually it also came with a phone lost under the drivers seat - that was a nice Surprise!Yesterday i Matt-black'd the the front lip, let me know what you think!
Cheers!

Looks nice mate!
The front looks low, but why is the back soo high?
What colour are the coilovers, might be able to distinguish them.
Another notable thing you have is the zoom engineering fuel cap.
Eat Sleep JDM FTW!

haha, the front is WAY too low and the back is WAY too high - my mechanic hates me because he can't get under it.
They're orange in colour, I'll try get some photos of them when i grabs some new wheels for it - Gunmetal sportsmax I'm thinking.
As for the Petrol cover, i Haven't seen it on many other miata's, whats the deal with it? It broke just last week; the rod to keep it closed rusted off...
Please don't steal my petrol

Fuel lid looks like the one made by Zoom Engineering in Japan.

Thanks guys
I actually only reattached that front lip yesterday. It was the same red as the car before, but it scrapped on everything so i took it off...
Then i realised that my car scrapes anyway, so I sanded it back and sprayed it matt black - came out alright i thought!
I was going to upgrade that fuel cap to one of the flat ones...but with all this hype i might keep it
I showed my mate (he drives a 180sx) your ride and he ran across the room with a strange look of ecstasy on his face when he saw your camber. I couldn't tell what was going on in his mind... I think it was love...?
Cheers mate! You can get them on mania I think?

Hey all, just a quick update!
After one day of driving, it occurred to me that my front lip is just too low. It's now back to red on the underside because of all the scrapping. As well as this, it's being held on by sticky tape - my clever plan of screws failed miserably, so it's connected by some good old duct tape! (To fix a car you only ever need two tools - duct tape and WD40. If it's moving and it ain't men to, duct tape it. If it's not moving and it's meant to - WD40 it )
I also took it down to Mania today for a Dyno Power Run.
It punched out 82rwkw and 229nm of torque - I was quite pleased!
Thanks to John (I think that's his name (the mechanic guy)) for all his help!
Next item in the trolley will be some X-Force Headers i think, or a Mania Intake. OR my rear suspension.
Any suggestions?
Cheers!

wow, 82rwkw for a 1.6 is pretty decent! mine got exactly that but its a stock 1.8.
you sure your car isnt modified, engine wise?
if your running coilovers and are having issues with your height, why dont you increase the height? Also as philz mentioned, check what colour the coilovers are, check for labeling etc.
Green will be tein's and are pretty common, considering yours is imported i dont see why it wouldnt be running them.

All i can see is that is has a 2.5inch exhaust and an air filter? I was pretty stoked.
And as for the suspension, they look to be orange in colour. I don't know much at all about suspension, so i might take it to pedders to see what they say

Nice car mate. I love the front lip, although you really should try to do something about the ride hight.
I must admit that I found it quite funny that your JDM sticker is on a rear panel never fitted to JDM cars. Anyway, nice car enjoy it!

2.5 inch for a 1.6 is a little bit too big, but if it works, it works!
intresting, i dont know what coilovers are orange, did you also check how much room you have to play around via adjustment? there should be a thread looking thing with 2 plates together. if there is more thread below these plates then you can go lower (should be shitloads at the back).
try get a picture up, someone will know what they are ;)
