No I'm unable to. That doesn't mean I didn't want to. But I was hoping to come & visit the startpoint & catch up with a few peeps. But Phesants Nest is too far I need to be back home by 8.30am.

Glad you enjoyed it thunderbird2. I had fun. Even my car seemed to be enjoying itself and didn't have any altitude problems for the first time in many years.

Garry, it needs to be said that you did an awesome job organising this run, honestly one of the better organised runs that i have been on. I can fully understand why you insisted on 'reccying' the run prior to the event also

Any 5 owner reading this who has ever enjoyed a nice B road run owes it to themselves and their beloved car to take a decent road trip like this one, with the club. I have dríven with numerous clubs over the years, and consistently MX5 drivers are on the whole some of the nicest drivers with which to share the road. This run was certainly no different! Great roads, great scenery, and great company. Was good to meet some more 5 Drivers, and put some more names and faces to nicknames.

Garry has really done his homework on this one - some truly fantastic pieces of road. The run out of Albury to Khancoban rates as one of my all time Most Memorable Drives.

I can now count my self as one of those club members calling for another one of these runs!

That was in Yass.

We came around the corner and it was the first thing i noticed on the street. Garry was leading everyone into a carpark right next to the building. I thought to myself - this must be some cruel joke!

The wife insisted we grab the shot. The guy I'm talking to was wondering what we were doing, so i explained. Needless to say he was quite amused!

I'm just waiting to upload my pix, then I'll share - though, they won't be in the same quality are yours considering they were taken by a compact digital by a passenger not used to the type of driving we all did. :mrgreen:

One thing about VicRoads...they build better roads than RTA of NSW.

Thank you Garry for organising this run.
I have a new sweetheart now (the Alpine Way)...
It seems Mazda had this road in mind when they designed the Mx5.

I had a great time and not just because of the drive, the company was fantastic.
Its a great reflection of the characters in this forum.

Nice piccies TB and Mrs TB.

Thanks to everyone for coming along. The drive is only half the fun, the other people along with you make up the rest of it.

I'm glad it looked well organised from the outside TB but from my perspective quite a few things didn't turn out as planned. Loosing a few cars at the first intersection didn't get things off to a good start, having car trouble and missing a group photo at the lookout were a bit of a disappointment. But as long as Rico made it home then it all seemed to work out OK in the end.

It would be next to impossible not to organise a great run around that area. There are so many fantastic roads criss crossing the snowwy mountains in NSW and Vic. I try to head up into the mountains somewhere at least once a year to have a bit of fun, it's such a magic place. Though hopefully it might be a bit greener next time.

Congratulations Garry, sounds like everyone had a great time and judging from the pictures the weather was great. Sorry we missed the run but as you know I had to go under the knife and fortuntely all went well now I am spending my time recovering and hanging out until I can drive my 5 again.

Just adding my public thanks to Garry for a great run.

Wondering if in future we should be like the Harleys and have a pick up trailer for the run leader. I'm pleased to say my car didnt miss a beat this time though wasnt tested on those leisurely roads. I must say I had a lot of fun playing tail end charlie for most of the weekend.

Great pics TB. Nice couple of NCs in one of them.

BTW, does everyone know that TB hasnt dríven the Oxley!!!!

Anyone interested in some more great B road driving, check out the easter trip to Coffs Harbour.

I'll give KK's Easter run a plug. If you thought my run was well organised then you really need to get yourself along to one of KK's run's. Everything runs with the precision of a Swiss watch, as long as his car keeps going. Four days of fun roads and great people. What better way to spend your Easter break.
