I took photos of the results screens at 2:30pm on Monday and you were down to 1:20.91 at that stage. Maybe improved after that too? That's still a massive improvement on your previous PB.

I know that I got down to 20.something but couldn't remember exactly what. Results will tell all soon enough.

Fantastic effort Joe. Finding three seconds today was a great effort. Where do you think you found the seconds?

Re: Joe's NA6 1.8
Biggest improvement was over the top. I just had so much more confidence through there by the end of the day and I also had a chance to chat to quite a few people as to how I should be attempting it. Overall I'm now pretty happy with turns 3-6. Whilst following one of the Red NA6's in the first session I also found out that you didn't have to brake for turn 9.
Biggest areas that still need improving are certainly turns 2, 8 and 10. Turn 2 was at least consistent by the end of the day, but I think I'm still coming way to far right. Turns 8 and 10 were all over the shop. Wouldn't have taken the same line twice all day.

Re: Joe's NA6 1.8
Ah yes, fast times are definitely a matter of having confidence to let the car move around a bit. Don't lift or brake for turns 6, 7 or 9 - you can go flat knacker through all of those. Next step will be to find quicker ways through 2, 8 and 10. Those are the big braking corners and finding the right compromise between braking point, turn-in point, and throttle out is very tricky. On turn 2 with street tyres, I find that I can see up to 95 to 100km/hr on the speedo when I reach the exit ripple strip - probably more although I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Anything less than 95km/hr for turn 2 and you know that you're not quite at the limit yet. Considering your rate of improvement, I'm sure you'll be knocking more off your PB at your next outing.
