Supercharger Bracket mounting points

Postby white1.8 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 12:27 pm

Hello,

I have recently started trying to attach a SC14 (the bigger version of the SC12) supercharger to the side of my NA8 engine (hot side) and was wondering where any of the professional kits or anyone who has done this mounted the brackets, if anyone could point me in the directions of some professional instructions that would also be very helpful.
Currently I'm thinking about removing the power steering but keeping the AC, has any one kept both and still fitting the supercharger under the bonnet?

Thankyou for any assistance

Do a search, I had a photo of one fitted to an MX-5 race car. I don't think there's a "kit".
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I don't know about the mounts on the SC14 or the size of the unit but you may be able to copy the mounting technique used in the JR Eaton M45 kit. I know where there is a standard JR tensioner for power steer and AC cars, unused in Brisbane. Maybe you can make it work.

It is really only the large nose pulley on the SC14 with the clutch in it that I can see being a problem.

Where in Bris are you?

Roger Trethewey has an SC13 mounted down there on his track car.

Look at this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=57&t=29490&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=60

The plated bracket that spans two head studs and the engine lifting lug is the supercharger bracket. Follow the thread and see how the SC attaches.

The following might also help - more comprehensive than their old instructions:

Thanks everyone so much for the help,
Sorry I didn’t answer in my last post I'm located on the north side of Brisbane in Wavell Heights (near Chermside).
Ill have a look though those links, hopefully that will sort everything.
