Whirring sound when airconditioning on

Hi all,

Just wondering if this is normal?
I have a NA6 with air con. I only just got it regassed and noticed the car sounds totally different when the AC is on.

Without it on, it sounds well.. normal .. nice revving sound.

But when the AC is on.. that deep revving sound becomes a whirring noise.. the sort of sound mini buses and delivery vans make when they are taking off.

Normal or not?

that's the fan you can hear mate, it comes on whilst the AC compressor is working to cool you down, usually cuts out when the compressor cycles down every 5-6 minutes

or it could be the aircon compressor, it's dríven off a belt so it could be belt noise too.

I guess its not too much to worry about.
Just makes the car sound a little silly when revving up the engine.
