tbro's 2nd NA, Scooter's resto
As most of you would know Wendy and I purchased Slammer's car "Scooter."
So last Friday Grump and I set off to go and get the car from Sydney, long story short it took forever, 22hrs on sat, but finally I got home. Sunday was unloading the car, taking all the gear supplied with the beast, all the stuff Steve had removed etc.
Now Scooter lives where our Clubman was, under cover at last.
Now the plan is to track the car but it needs to be registered in Qld. So it will be pulled down, any repairs needed will be done and the car blue plated for mods.
My first job was to find out why it didn't go and buggar me we found the butterfly shaft had sheared , but the screws thankfully had stayed in the shaft.
Next job was the front end and brake inspection. Stuff me how Steve managed to do such good time with a bent upper control arm and rooted bushes
So thats how much I done so far, I'll keep everybody up to date on our progress.

As Tbro said it was a long hard slog to Sydney and back, but we had quite a few laughs on the way. Here is scooter as we found her
the rain held off while we loaded her up, It was Valentines day and Terry looked very fetching in fluro green.
And here started the long haul back to Brisbane

Spent a bit more time on Scooter this week,
Replaced lower and upper control arm bushes and modded lower ball joints.
Fitted Sparco seat with original runners as I couldn't see above the dash!!!!!Then it's out to get cleaned, Gotta see ASE05
Still need to paint sway bar and refit.
Full oil changes with synthetic oils this weekend, and brake fluid flush etc.Pick up throttle body and fit and get it running.
Me thinks the next couple of weeks are gunna be busy!!
Stay tuned, more to come.

You say you modded the lower ball joints, what did you do? Just curious.

Hi Gerard,
I think that the 5th march track may be pushing just a bit too much.
The only way I could run Scooter would be on slicks, and by taking the car by truck or trailer.
Would rather take my time and hopefully the car will be finished with the itb's on and tuned, regoed etc by the next track day.
So the poor old Clubbie will have to continue to fill in (lifes hard eh!) maybe even on slicks!!!

Todays update.
Front end and brakes all finished, painted front sway bar and refitted tonight.
Flushed front brakes and clutch, don't know when they were last done but lots of crap in master cylinders.
Made up new grill just need to sicaflex in and refit.
Oh yeh!! went to MX5plus to get another throttle body but Richard needs to dig one out so will pick up next week.
Thought I would try and refit the shaft and fit it on to motor, put a battery in, primed fuel up and stuff me the bloody thing started first go!!!!
It idles quite well and revs like sh*t.
Well thats all for today, me thinks me might have a bludge now
