Hey guys,
Just purchased a 1990 mx5 and took it home. I just realised the antenna does rise high above the car and when i try to shrink it it wont budge. Is the antenna suppose to be able to move or it is just fixed at that high? I'm worried people will play around with it and snap it off

If it is the original antenna then it can be simply unscrewed and you can put it into the boot for safekeeping while parked.
That is what I do if I park in a less secure area and I get paranoid

Or if you can be bothered, you can change it into an automatic aerial.
The NA8 (94-97) model came with auto aerials from factory.

I changed mine to a "bee-sting" type antenna from a recent group buy. (think s2000 style but not quite)
Looks the goods.. And reception is still good, not hard to change at all
