Richard's Turbo NB Fairwell Photoshoot

Postby Sasso » Sun Feb 08, 2009 10:18 pm

I did a photoshoot of Richard's car (buliarios) for him to remember his little beast.

Location was Caslte Hill, we got kicked out of the first complex after a few photos unfortunately (cameras everywhere). Here are a few from the night. Please enjoy.

Great photos and stunning car.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

WOW good job. I didn't even attempt it. I managed to remove the flash though. Was that all with clone tool and spot heal?

A bit of everything. Not a perfect job but that takes more time and money

Great photos as usual Sasso.

I'm must waiting for some $$$ and I'll invest on a digital SLR.

I'm really keen to try HDR photography.

Nice shots :)

I'm a bit of a photographer and will be taking some photos of this car too with my D200, probably the same lens. Looks like you used a 50mm 1.8, and something else for the wider shots - out of interest why did you chose f8? Do you find it sharpest there? Most lenses are at their sharpest 2 stops down, on most zooms or primes this still means more like f5 that wide.

I used a 18-55VR kit lens for most shots, which is too soft and distortiony. I chose f8 just out of habit knowing that its about the sharpest setting on the 50mm prime, though not the sharpest on that lens, so that was a mistake. I hate using that lens. I used the 50mm on only a few photos at the end, and discovered the massive sharpness improvement straight away even wide open, should have used it more. Oh well Richard should be able to make a few posters so as long as he's happy.

As requested.

Was only curious, as I rarely use high appetures and probably should. Love the 50mm 1.8, it's so sharp at like 3.2! Having said that, I rarely use these days it as I have an 18-200 VR and love the convenience and wide angle, even though the bokkeh sucks. My D50's 18-55 non-VR was pretty rubbish compared to the 50mm 1.8.

They really are nice shots, I haven't really taken many car photos before (but will have an excuse to soon... ;) )
