hey guys

i like the look of the FM system including the front pipe for my SE - but not the shipped price with the current exchange rate.

for all you guys running aftermarket SE exhausts, where did you get them from?

I have heard of SP Motorsports but cant find them anywhere online

please enlighten me :)

SP motorsport exhaust is produced by SMB.
Their product is top notch.

I have the SP (now SMB) exhaust on my SE, and it gives a great note. Not sure how much fitting is these days though

I am running type 1 SMB exhaust, the difference between type 1 & 2 SMB exhaust is that type 1 had a larger diameter downpipe, different CAT and no resinator. Power wise there was about 3rwkw between the two.

I have had a x-force resinator tig welded on as it was a bit to boomy for my liking, perhaps I am getting old. Two local guy's who know of had an SMB exhaust put on there SE also recently, unfortuantly the downpipe wasnt jigged properely and it was hitting butterfly brace. It was easily fixed by adding a couple of washers to the brace bolt which in turn lowered it, so it wouldnt hit the downpipe.

If your looking to purchase from the US, you may be interested in this as well. It includes a front pipe and downpipe, but no cat. For the MSM (SE)

If you do decide to purchase from the US, just know that the US MSM (SE) has additional 02 sensor bungs on the downpipe, which the AU spec doesnt have. That can be easily fixed by plugging them with the appropriate size bolts.

I am surprised no one has piped up and said 'support the sponsor'.

MX5 Mania do an exhaust system and also do an upgrade package too. Exhaust system is currently priced at $1290 plus $60 for fitting. Upgrade kit to 145kw at the wheels is $2550 fitted which includes exhaust, intercooler and air filter.

Mania's one however, is basically a direct copy of the SMB exhaust, just made up at mania instead of a factory elsewhere...
