Yes it was a bit of over kill at the time as my headers are double ceramic coated (silver inside and out then a second coat of black), ceramic is the way to go. I try to make all my own bits and just to be clear I don’t have a elaborate workshop, I used a 100mm $32 angle grinder, hand files and a $79 Aldi arc welder (high tech hey). I didn’t use the bracket as there was not enough room between the headers and the super charger so I mounted the heat shield directly on to the SC. Even with the best planing some things don’t work out but that’s how you learn, you never stop learning!

Ted.
Why didn't I buy one years ago?
NA8 Ceramic coated headers, Hi flow cat, 2.5”system, M45 SC 150/62.5 8psi, Dual TB, IC & Adaptronic ECU.

Teds, what kind of headers do you have? I understand space is pretty limited, but that some after market headers will fit with the JRSC - JR's of course, but also others I believe.

"Ted, what kind of headers do you have?"
Liverpool Exhaust made them, I think their Hurricane brand, I had them ceramic coated by PROcoat at Berkeley Vale on the Central Coast NSW.

The headers I have fit well, I mounted the heat shied on the SC with SS ties but there is only 15mm of room between the headers and the heat shield (not enough room for my bracket :( and the shield).

i have an old TDR heat shield with hot spots/ wear marks on both sides that was used with an m45 & stock headers (i think) - so i thought it must have been fairly tight.

Having ceramic coated headers, they would be damaged by the TDR heat shield (wear the coating off), yes they are close together. But I think the TDR unit works well!
