Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001 vs PP2 vs rest?

I'm in the same boat as those with the RE's. I've been running these as my track tyres (and purely for the track, with the exception of maybe a week or two either side as I can't be bothered changing rims after I get back) for the past few track days and haven't seen any of the problems mentioned.

Yep, tyres should be good for 3 years. They won't last that long. Trust me.

only som sizes are being made in aus... and some are still jap spec according the the website:

Turns out mine are Australian made. Still no qualms from me even though they aren't manufactured overseas.

So, I just picked up a new pair of Japanese made 195/50r15 Adrenalin RE001s for the missus's car from the local Bridgestone dealer. He said they were among the last of the Jap ones he could find for me. They were mid 2007 manufacture but cheap at $125. All are now sourced from a plant in Sth Aus.

hey manga_blue, any chance you can measure how much tread is on the tyres? seeing as its still pretty new

anyway he said thats called cold tearing under heavy braking
it happens when you don't let the tyres heat up

and hes still trying to figure out why it's just that bit so could you post some more photos?

Who's this tyre man you speak of, and why does he want to see pics of my tyres? Is he going to help me? I'm still waiting on a response from Bridgestone, if they want to disown me then I'll be more than happy to post pics of the worst of it.

As I've said though, the treatment has been no different to how I used the PP2's, which is what this thread was really about - RE001's vs PP2's...

I just realized mine are made here too

and that could explain why everyone raves on about how good they are and I'm here sliding around in the wet and not as much grip as many rave on about

and to add to this little bits of rubber is coming off mine too altho not as much and not as big

My RE001 are still fine, though might be changing to Toyo T1R or Kumho

No joy with mine, Bridgestone disowned me They deny it is a manufacturing problem.... I've done about 10,000kms on them now, so a bit too late to continue on with this fight for me. I'll simply never buy Bridgestone again, and will never recommend them to anyone, in fact, I'll do my upmost to advise against buying them.

The RE001's might grip well, but their build quality is woeful. Why should customers have to be concerned with, and check on where their tyres are made??

I'll have to dig up the pics I took which haven't yet been posted...

why don't you start up a petition out there? or write to the head office and take it from there? you might be able to get some good pointers from the advertising executive who wrote to virgin re their food

About year ago I had the same issue with crap year eagle F1 made in Thailand vs made in Germany, I had a massive rant and it got me nowhere.
I honestly belive it's a bait and switch for bottom line proffits. What I hate the most is when you hear and read how good it is; then buy it and later realize that you have been molested.

The crap year eagle F1s used to squirm and squeal like a pig on the track.

I have learnt my lesson I'm now very specific about what rubber I want.
I have been very happy with the RE001 on the track at Wunton; lots of grip, very predicatable, I didn't have any offs on both track days. (I usually have at least one off per track day)

Please note "squeal like a pig" is a saying when used in this context it refers to a loud shrill, cry or the sound a pig makes.
It does not refer to the noise a person makes while being sodomized by a backwoods redneck pig farmer.
Please do not confuse with other slang definitions; to turn informer; betray an accomplice; reveal a secret; or as someone acting as an informer or decoy for a pig.
