Err yeah it was actually pictures of your car that made me choose that blue :P

Image

A dodgy unfinished photoshop of what im thinking, although this is meant to look like Stormy Blue, so its darker than it will be.

And how hot are those wheels?

Yay, got some new rear RE001s and fixed the headlight (loose plug), so should be regoed soon. :)

Shame the thing seems to have been wired up by an italian, so it wont start with a main relay in it, and sometimes when you turn on the lights the tacho flicks up and down, and the temp gauge always flicks up and down, also it flatens its battery, which may be to do with the relay being bridged with a bit of wire to make it run..
oh well at least its not rusting like an italian

Looks like its time to go to a sparky!

Yeah, so can I thankfully

Whats even funnier is i came home to my ever reliable lancer to find it also had a flat battery, possibly killed by a few weeks of being borrowed to make the mx5 start :P

Thank goodness for me living next to my girlfriends parents

daffyflyer.. 93 Clubman has a good point. We all sell our 'dream' cars eventually. Since you like blue have you considered Laguna Blue ? This was an original NA8 colour that Clubmans could be had in and from memory doesn't look too far removed from your photoshop picture. Cheers from slowpoke

daffyflyer.. Next time you visit the extremely capable crew at Carco, ask Russell if you can have a dekko at his Australian Sports Car World mag with the Clubman in it. Some years ago I gave him a copy of a 1994 edition which had a write up of a Laguna Blue Clubman. Otherwise perhaps someone on this Forum has one and can fire up a photo for us all to admire ??
But a decent respay (even if one can get it done for "a special price" !!) is unfortunately not a minor cost for most of us.
Cheers from slowpoke

Btw SP, do you happen to know which edition of Aust Sports Car World Quarterly in 1994 contained the article?

It is a nice blue, but i do really like 10AE blue and the big question is how much people will pay for originality, and how much people just want the (in many ways) best NA you can get.
Like personaly, i was not thinking when I bought my car 'oooh its a clubman how exclusive' but just 'whoo, free bilstiens and LSD'
I dunno how many other people think like me though!

And yes, i figure about $4K for a respray, but im willing to strip all the door handles, trim etc etc before getting it done, which should save a bit

Got the exhaust fitted last week, first impressions: Loud...., quite loud, sounds very nice (deep, and much larger sounding, with silly burbling noises on the over run that make me grin :D) , and feels quite perked up by it, but I am going to look into making it not so loud!

Funny thing is they actually rewired the relay socket so they did not have to user a $140 genuine relay, and it ended up costing less than $90 with labor :P
