Unfortunately the Enkeis don't fit over the front brakes...they were just fitted for transport...

Chapter 8...Getting it finished.
Engine is fitted just have to connect up all the usual stuff, the diff goes in as well...we went for a locked 3.9...all the SE brakes are fitted with Hawk Blue pads.
So it's time to start the car...always a stressfull time after so much work you hope it's all put in the right place....connect battery...turn on ignition...no terrible noises or smoke..thats a good sign...turn the key, fuel pump makes it's usual noise...nothing, quick check and I forgot to plug the wire on to the starter...
Turn the key again and she fires up first kick....big relief...just a little bit of smoke which clears after a couple of minutes, we are all go.

very nice indeed - have you got it tuned yet or are you running it fairly stock for now engine wise?

Final Chapter...
Ok...so the final bits had to be screwed in to the car, seat , harness, ready for CAMS log book inspection...
First time out on the track was at Oran Park on the Thursday 2 days before we were due to head off to phillip island for the 1 hour race, at this stage due to lack of time and funds we were running the car with stock air box and computer, figured it would be OK for now, so we hit the track and the damn thing is hitting boost cut already...having done this before with the last SE racer I know it would be no fun so the call went out to david at MX5mania and by Friday arvo the car had a Adaptronic computer, Boost contoller and MAP sensor, big injectors fitted, about 130rwkw still with the stock air box...this is OK, just happy to get rid of the boost cut.
Thanks MX5mania.
All went well at P.I....I managed a 3rd. outright in the wet sprint race on Saturday arvo and we finished 4th in class and 21 outright which was a great result for us considering it was the cars first time racing.
After we got back from P.I. and made a air intake and it was back to mania for retune, now we have about 150rwkw and 500nm torque, with a very conservative tune(we can't afford to be rebuilding this thing all the time)....gotta be happy with that.
Also bought a set of Aragosta shocks, and did corner weight set up which was quite interesting.
Now the car is finished and Robbo decides he wants to go back to Nurburgring for the 24 Hour race and we need to sell the car because he needs the money...so now the car is up for sale(check MY105 if you are interested)
Robbo ran the car at Oran FOSC, he was fastest MX5 and was in the top 5 or 6 in his races, did a 49.2 on the south circuit on treaded tyres which is pretty damn good..
Thats all for now.
Thanks to Andrew for the great photo.

Excuse my ignorance, but what kind of front bar is that, and were the top holes added? Nice build by the way
