Missing Centre Console Parts

Postby xatz » Wed Jan 28, 2009 10:48 pm

So when I first bought my Mx5 I was so blown away by the handling and immense fun of driving it that I didn't notice the CD player was just sitting there on top of the bits and pieces tray and not actually screwed in. :?

So I pulled the centre console out and had a look behind it and it turns out I'm missing some parts.

One of these spring clip things.

One of these little screw fastener things circled in red, and three of the screws that go into them.

And the most important part. The right-hand side equivalent of this piece (I'm assuming it looks like a mirror image).

Does anyone have some of these things laying around or might know where I'd be able to source replacements?

I was going to phone around wreckers to see if they had any Mx5s I could steal from but I thought I'd try here and see if anybody had a better solution. :)

Check with MX5 Mania in Sydney (click on the sponsor's link above) to see if they have the 2nd hand parts you need. Your photos show you've got an NA, I know MX5 Mania recently acquired a black NA that they're wrecking for parts.

Also check this cool parts diagram list available for download from this thread. This is a great parts list of various bits and pieces for the NA.

It should show you the official Mazda part numbers of the parts you need.

How recent was this? In the last week?

You are right, I do have an NA. I should make a habit of remembering to specify in my posts.

I emailed pictures to Mx5Mania and they are looking to see if they have the parts. That link you gave was great Hammer but not in-depth enough. I then found this helpful document available from here. It covers everything that other document does and more.

Thanks for all your help Hammer =)

I think it was a couple of weeks ago now when they got it.
