Hi guys !
I'm close to my 40 and I'm currently working on my first modified car ever. Just like you, I've chosen a Miata as the basement of my project. The engine is a Corvette LS-6 with 400HP, something we will look at later on in the right place. As we are here in the body section, let me present you my wide body Miata.
I bought 12 inches wide 3 pieces rear wheels with NO spacers that fitted there because of my 5x114,3 bolt pattern conversion. The weels like you will see on the video were very LARGE so we started making the body arround... As it's probably my first and last very big car project like this, I don't hesitate to go a little crazy but still I want to give the car decent look. Now from different inspiration, starting from the 1962 Corvette for the sides and the Lancer Evo for the fron and a bit of Viper for the rear, he re is a small video while my friend Jim is building the body prototype, just before we start the molding process...
Here it is:

Would really have you guys opinion...
Thanks in advance !

Did someone post this before? Or was it another forum
I really like the way this design is heading, it won't suit everybody's taste but i'm lovin' the lines so far.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Like this one...
Nice to hear from the guy actually doing the work. Looks like it should be an absolute ripper.

Hi guy,
It's a real project, I'm not the guy who's doing the work but the one who pays... The guy who is doing the work is cal Jimmy Beauchemin, he lives in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada.
This car is a 1999 Miata bought 2 years ago. I've initially put in a Chevy LT4 but the guy who put it in did a real bad job, I had to redo it all again... here are some videos I posted when I rode the car with the first engine ;
http://www.bfamus.tv/watch.php?mdid=2095&t=Chevy+Miata+1999
And when we took all the engine off the body,,,,
http://www.bfamus.tv/watch.php?mdid=3231&t=Miata+avance+ou+recule
this was a very sad moment...
I'm going there today to get some new pictures and make another video. Today, my friend Jim told me that the new hood scoop was in place. I've ask him to build me a Camaro SS hood scoop because I've had a 98 Camaro SS and I've liked so much this hood scoop !

Side covers, covering exhaust like I explained earlier (not finished yet):
And finaly, here the preview after 6 weeks of hard labors;
Next video, the car should be complete, just before painting !

That is a wicked looking 5.
I love it. What colour paint are you considering for the car? I think with the right colour it will look menacing.
Can't wait for the next installment.

Each to their own I guess. Begs the question, Why not buy a Vette in the first place?
