I want a GB on this knob!
Thank you littik.
I want a GB on this knob who is interested?
I know we are experiencing some tuff times but there are so many benifits to this knob:
Aluminum = LW
Lots of speed holes
Increased surface area for heat disipation
You dont need a rabbi to fix your knob anymore
Will improve handeling and performance ie better laps times.

I can see where you are coming from Wun, but isn't one of the reasons for the smooth gear changes that the MX-5 is known for is that the gear knob is quite heavy? Would reducing the weight be counter-productive?

Why not run with no gear knob - it'd save even more weight...

From what stevesports was telling me he hasn't got much of a knob anyway. Negligible weight savings there....

If we remove the knob, there will be no driver.

Wun, if you like it, then go ahead and set up an EOI.
Jeff and I are just warning you that if you have a short shifter, you ain't gonna like using the knob with it.

I hate metal gearshift knobs anyway.
In summer they burn you and in winter they freeze your fingers.
Give me a good leather knob any day!

Wun, I'd take one. I actually really like them.
I have found a solution to the metal vs. sun problem. Remove them each time, and screw them on just before driving. This has evolved from my original fix which was bedsocks over the HB lever and shifter. Sexy pink and blue striped ones at that.
Oh, and before you all start I think we've been through all the puns before.
