Fitment of N Power style bar to NB8A

Gday. Just wondering if it's easy to fit the N Power style bar to an NB8A ? Do you need to hack anything, or is it bolt straight in. Cheers.

have you got a photo of it?

if it is similar to the racing beat style II, then you definitely need to do some hacking.

there are other style bars i have seen that simply bolt into where the seatbelt towers are. i wouldn't bother buying one of them. they attach to the chassis so flimsily, it would probably mouse trap you if a breeze went past.

fundies, i don't think this one requires any hacking

the ebay description says it bolts straight on.

i think this is what the installation should look like clicky

the one that requires hacking is the racing beat one/or replicas of it. this is what the installation requires you to do clicky

Looking at the photo from ebay. This looks more like the RB Style 2 Bar. In fact I think this is the OBX version which is a direct copy of the RB Style 2 bar. See MX5 Mania's website (photo below)

The other reason I think this is more like the RBS2 & OBX bar is the photo (below) from ebay. The vertical support frame with a nut (circled red) requires to be bolted into the upright. This will require the black plastic trim to be cut out to accommodate. As per Sliq's 2nd link.

But I could be wrong. Having said that I have the RBS2 bar and it looks very similar to the photo.

i think its a good idea that the style bar requires hacking for it to be fitted to the chassis - you have the peace of mind that its more secure than just bolting in one or 2 bolts.
