I daresay that the regs are interpreted by different inspectors in different ways. I.E. if you cut bloody great holes in your parcel shelf or fire wall and make it look like a dogs breakfast then fail!!!. If you cut a small neat hole that looks professional then it may be overlooked. also I think that a good attitude gets you a long way too. I deal with people every day that are spending$10-$20,000,000 dollars. you think I don't do a lot of smiling and ass licking.

Actually I'm surprised you went with the firewall intake. While it is more effective due to the high pressure area its not very common with NB owners as it is easier to fit a filter else where.

Glad you've sorted out the springs issue, should look good a bit lower. I put my nb8b wheels back on today, they do look good

Does a firewall protect the occupant incase of a fire? Cutting a hole in it would be dangerous wouldnt it?

Wun the hole that is cut in the fire wall to install the CAI is above the top cowling line and enters the area between the bonnet and screen. by the way would you happen to know how many grams lighter you wallet has to be to save 1kg of weight.

umm, mr microbiologist. NOTHING will reach absolute zero. The closest is supposed to be 100 pK (1×10−10K), which is the coldest temperature ever produced in a lab.

Ok i think this has completely gone off topic. What i was after was some advice from people who have had the car tested for roadworthy in victoria with this mod and weather or not it has been an issue. As i have already done it im not really concerned with it right now, but i was just curious as to what happened in the future if i ever needed to sell it with a roadworthy or have the car re-roadworthied for whatever reason. By saying it was not debatable my intention was not to be rude, however i didnt want to topic to go off on a tangine about weather its the law or not blah blah. Its got nothing to do about being a hoon/muzza whatever, but about what could happen (worst case scenario) and how to get around it. Freddy like you mentioned with the mate who is not really a mate just someone i know, yes he did get dicked for other stuff, and when he surrended his car for inspection he reverted everything back to its original state in order to pass inspection but they found the last thing he though of and got him on that.

Not saying im going to get pulled over for hooning and have my bonnet checked, but it is obviously a possibility being a p plater. Now about the selling illegal things, it happens with many things, bongs, hobby knives etc etc, nothing against dick he is a great guy.

Cheyne, look i dont know about you but i didnt have the extra hundred to spend on install, nor did i have the extra time to drive 45 mins to ringwood. I would have loved to have him do it, but i was already paying 500 dollars and couldnt afford the rest as i still have to pay for my seats. Also, the springs did turn out to be the wrong ones, he replaced them with brand new ones for nothing and i am really happy with that he is a great guy.

Dick does roadworthy inspections, do you think that he would sell such an intake if it were to make the car unroadworthy? If so, go get it engineered... Or.. Take it out.
