I am considering buying an NA, live in Adelaide and have a few questions
What things should I look out for?
How much can I expect to pay for changing a timing belt?
Is there an MX5 specialist in Adelaide?
Regards
Paul

Considering buying an NA
Howdy Paul,
If your looking at an NA6 (1989 -> 1993) they have a couple of things you need to look out for (these all happened to mine)...
Depending on the km's the clutch and slave cylinder might be on their way out, my car was at 150,000kms when this happend, also the na6 engine has a comoon problem with the engine know as the short nose crank pulley. it can warp and bend if treated rough, it can be fixed depending on the condition. this also happend to mine.
also on some NA's, mostly the older, the dash can develop a small bulge and crack over time, not so common but it can happen.
they are basically all the bad points as far as i can think of.
timing belt change or major 100k service will cost anywhere between $600 - $1000.
Hope this helps,
cheyne
