Lip looks great mate. I used the garden edging solution with right angle brackets pop riveted into under body. Can you tell me what type of linear PVC that you used. Looks better than mine.

Thanks for the support, yeah the right angled brackets was a good idea but I only realized what you meant after I bought the PVC.

As for the PVC strip, I bought mine at Mitre 10 after not being able to find any good material at Bunnings, it costs about 10 dollars for a 3 meter strip. The picture I have in the previous page showing it with all the tools is basically what it looked like. It simply marked at Linear PVC Strip. But basically anything that is pretty rigid but with some curving potential would be good.

Had some down time so I thought I'd DIY those chrome vent rings. Very easy to do, buy some chrome paint from your local Bunnings or Autobarn / Repco, mask the vent slits with masking tape and cotton balls, and spray away.

wow, will be doing that tomorrow i think. do the side vents just pop out the same way as the center ones? mine were really hard to get out, one was partially glued in. nice stuff anyway.

Yes they do, theyre a little harder to pull out because they dont get pulled out often. I used pliers and some tissue to keep it from scratching and just pulled hard. Good luck!

After searching through the forums, I learnt how to repair gutter rash on rims (thanks forum), so I gave it a test go out on my auscar rims that I had just bought. Turned out great. What you need is a metal filler or metal repair compound that you can buy from any auto or hardware store (or even a K-mart is what I heard). I also painted them black since any mistakes I made or bad paint job wont be as obvious.

Gutter rash and scratches filled with metal filler:

At the same time, I finally got around to fixing up my hardtop if anyone remembers it was quite faded and had a few grey patches where the sun / rain had weathered it down. I've actually been working at this for more than 2 weeks from constantly adding new layers. What this project has taught me is that gloss black spray paint is VERY hard to apply smoothly, as what I got were stripes of uneven paint as it was such a large surface. At last I primed it again and used satin black which is one hell of a lot smoother when finished.

Primed and sprayed with a light coat of satin black

You definately have the knack for the DYI. The wheels look good.

How bad were the gutter rash? My wheels have some deepish gutter rash and was wondering how much the metal filler will work on something that is merely a scratch.
