front strut brace to fit hotside jrsc nb

Postby mhj » Wed Dec 24, 2008 9:36 am

im wondering if any one has a front strut brace that fits on an nb with a jrsc 45.
seems pretty squeezy in there and the bonnet has some cut outs just to close
i know it needs to go back to the firewall rather than the over the top of engine ..normal position
whats a good brand....and is it possible/cost efective to have one custom made in aus rather than pay to import from japan or usa
enjoy

I looked into this. I think you're out of luck, there isn't enough clearance.

The MX5 is double wishbone up front, so theoretically you don't need a strut brace. It may help overall chassis rigidity though.

I would look at 2 point Carbing Strut brace to the firewall.

That's pretty funny, it attaches at a point where there is no stiffness whatsoever in the required direction....doesn't really matter too much as Rhysk has stated.

That is a "mechanic's brace", one a mechanic leans on while fixing the car. Probably just stiff enough for that.
