Thanks Fatty,
I had thought of that, but both the thermostat and radiator pipes have lips already.

It's made in the US so you can probably find a better and faster supplier.

Thanks Andrew. Did you use this tape to wrap the hose at each end to prevent leaks, or use it in some other way?

J

I haven't used it to fix any leaks Jeff, just to reinforce some parts of my coolant re-route.
If the tape lives up to what it states it can do, then it should do the trick. Worth a shot I reckon at only $13.

Silicone coolant hose leaks

most hoseclamps have a very low clamping preasure before they start to destort. you can buy a hose clamp in stainless that has a positve bolt through the adjustment band. these are used in the marine industry for boats that come under lloyds or equivlent survey requirements. the clamping preasure is many times greater than normal hose clamps. A lot of the time a leaking hose is caused through the lack of clamping preasure. in my opinion a silicon hose has a harder outer and inner caseing that requires more clamping preasure to get it to seal. This could be the reason for leaks.

Silicone coolant hose leaks

I tried both the tape and marine clamps to no avail. Must admit the clamp may have been too big as it closed right up. Has been okay on OEM hoses which are a lot harder and tighter fit anyway. One more effort before I toss them is to roughen the inner surface of the hose as the silicone is a waxy finish.
