Can na kings fit nb?
YEah the problem is ringwood is a hell of a drive for me, it killed me to go up the first time
What kind of modification is that? That would really help me as i really want to avoid that drive!

Will na kings fit nb?
crzymx wrote:Oh it was the bloke from mx5factory, if he did he did it by mistake, its just a bitch coz ringwood is a long way away.
I just want to know if it will fit regardless of spring rate or whatever. Im talking about height and width etc. The flat end of the spring doesnt bother me too much i just want to know if i can get around it.
I have no idea how far away you live from Ringwood (it is a 2+ hour round trip for me in traffic - no big deal) but if Dick or his guys sold you NA kings for your NB then they made an error.
Please contact them to explain the issue and I am optimistic that they will do whatever is in their power to rectify the issue (maybe even postage/couriers??)
The MX5Factory is a long time supporter of the Victorian MX5 club and the members here have nothing but praise for them.
In my opinion there is ABSOLUTELY no point is trying to make NA kings fit your NB, especially, as you have stated previously, you where supplied the wrong springs in the first place.
crzymx wrote:As i think i have been sold na king springs under false pretense, i was wondering if there is a way to get around the incompatibilty? If it the case of the end of the spring being flat can it be sawn off?
Seriously, just follow it up with them. You went in good faith to purchase NB king springs and they sold you NA king springs. They made a mistake and they should assist you in rectifying it.
I any case, the good folk at MX5Factory lurk these pages and are already aware of the issue and are just waiting for your call......

crzymx, I got a good idea!!. Listen to the advice you are being given for once. If you have squared off bits on the end of your springs ( square cut ) then they are for NB. because as Matty and I told you before .The NB perch it hellical to take the square cut end of the NB spring. The NA perch is flat to take the sniped off end of the NA spring. My advice now is to please get a professional to replace your springs, because if you are having this much trouble just getting the right spring, then pulling the shocks out and changing springs over will have you stumped

Yeah, please just pick up the phone and speak to Dick. I can totally appreciate that Ringwood is hard to get to, but compare that to how you'll feel if you cut the springs and they still don't fit, and you've just flushed $300 down the toilet.

Relax, anything i do myself is supervised, if not done by a mechanic with 30 years expirience. I cant really make any mistakes because if everything thats done to the car is advised. Now im really confused grump because i dont know which spring i have again. The lingo is confusing me because i dont know if were on the same level. The front springs are tubular all the way to the tip. The rear springs are tubular from the middle down the both ends untill about 6 centimetres from each end, and from there it looks like the have been sanded flat (figuristically speaking). Thats what i meant by squared off. So now what is this spring?

front springs are NB, but what does the other end of the rear spring look like. does it look like the front spring or is it the same as the end of the rear spring that we can see

sorry to say it dude but your rear springs are for an NA. both front and rear springs should look like your front ones. the tighter wound end of the spring goes to the top. You need to get them to exchange your rear springs as they wont go anywhere near to seating on the rear spring perch. NA and NB springs are different heights(lenghts)

money on top? If dick sold you something that he said were NB springs, you should get an exchange without paying anymore money (other than the fuel to get it from him i guess)

it shouldn't matter. If he sold something at a price that he said were NB springs, he should deliver. Whether it is worth more or less is a different matter.
also wun, you buying those gramlites? They have good tyres on and they fit over NB8B brakes.
