You wanna hear a story?
After you guys all left I did my last session of the day. All went OK on the track. Was still doing fairly standard times. As I came back in, I noticed an odd sort of scraping sound. Didn't think too much of it, so I packed up the car and everything. Started to drive off and was like "OK, that sound definitely isn't normal". Had Alex get out of the car and listen whilst I moved forward, and there was definitely a sound coming from the front left wheel. Re parked, put the car up on the scissor jack, took the wheel off and had a play with the wheel hub. Definitely dragging along.
After a bit of discussion with the guys that were running that silver super low F something car, we came to the conclusion that I had no left front brake pad remaining and I was using metal on metal to brake. The heat transfer was causing the pad holder to expand and touch against the rotor causing the scraping sound.
Drove home all the way without front pads, using a whole lot of engine braking, a fair bit of hand braking, and a little bit of foot braking just to make sure the rear lights lit up when I was slowing down.
So yeah... definitely need to buy new pads tomorrow... Hopefully I won't need to get new rotors either, but there was definitely some scoring on the side facing the engine of the front left rotor...

Thats marcus.!
Well that was a very very adventurous day
Fan belts, radiator caps and brake pads
(Go team mx-5... (Felix where are you lol))
Thanks to marcus for the lift, hope you find those brakes tomorrow.
Thanks to regie for organising everyone to meet up at pheasants.. (even if not everyone made it there )
Thanks to jimi fro bringing the socket set, seems you were dying to use it.!
Was great fun with great people as always, have to do it all over again on the 9th of Jan or 23rd of Jan if you want Eastern Creek (need cams).
For the softies, you missed out on a really nice day, not too many people on the track and it wasn't overly hot.
Photos will be up after I get some rest, possibly over the weekend.

Hi Guys!!
Very nice to meet you all, this IS my first post, but i was that guy who snapped a belt and sprayed coolant everywhere!
Thank you SO much for everyones support in helping me get the mx5 back onto the track even though it was
short lived and overheated again!
but GO TEAM MX5!!!!
I also appologize for my anti-social gf, but she was really really drugged up on medication so she was pretty out of it
and didn't socialize!
All in all, FANTASTIC day even with the hiccups!

ill post some highlights on youtube when my friends get to slaving over a hot keyboard editing my videos. Some good shots of Reggie sniffing my exhaust pipe, Jimi pulling some wiggle on the WARM DOWN lap .
My fastest recorded time was a mid 1:22, trying to learn from Reggie's lines but he got too far for me to see the ending bit haha

mega dodgy engine rebuild he got then... I would suggest he does something about, its already cost him to much, he shouldn't be paying anymore for poor quality work. Go and complain to whoever built it, if they aren't co-operative take it further. He personally shouldn't have to pay, he said it was only 3000km ago wasn't it?
Well I hope it pans out for him.
Hey Matt!!
We had fun fitting the belts to your car lol, plus now you have a really cool radiator cap..!!

Haha! Nice video. You've got way too much on top of my car. I Remember that lap you completely pulled away from me on the main straight. I was kinda behind you after turn 10, but once we got on the straight, you were gone.
What lap times are you getting? I'm interested to see how far behind you I am.
