Alright lads. Seats are in!
(Actually, they were in on Tuesday, but I've been too busy to post anything up til now)
What a difference to the NB8A seats. They're alreay hugging me (in a good way), and they're definitely keeping me in the seat when I go round some of the corners I know on my way to/from work. I sit a little bit higher than before, but the seats themselves aren't physically higher than the old NB8A seats. Must just be the padding.
They're definitely more comfortable as well. There's plenty of lumbar support and getting in and out of the car is actually no harder than before. If anything it's a little easier because of the shoulder "wings" which I can now lean on whilst leaving the car.
Fitment was easy, but that's because my seats came out of an MX5 and came with the mounting points. If you get the seats without the mounting points you'll need to fabricate up some mounts for it. The mounts won't be easy to find either considering they stopped making them along with the seats. The seats also didn't fit in 100%. I needed to add a washer to each seat. Hopefully I haven't got the seats reversed...
(I would doubt I have though, considering the seat belt mounting points are on certain sides, and they're right)
The real test will come on Sunday when the club track day is on, but I daresay they'll be perfect for me as a compromise between daily driving and the odd track day.

Right, as promised... Many of the shots turned out a lot nicer than I thought they would, which is a plus. I would've flickr'ed them, except it turns out they've put in some nice restrictions since I've last used them, so boot that. Enjoy
Now for the feedback. Best mod I've done thus far I reckon. The drive to/from Wakefield was fantastic. Didn't need to shift around pretty much at all because of back issues. The only reason I shifted my posture was for the benefit of my feet/legs. So that's pretty much 2 hours of driving without any significant shifting.
On the track they were pretty good. Much much much less sliding around than the stock NB8A seats, and I'm definitely not jamming myself against the seat like I used to with the dead pedal. I'm still pressing against the centre console every now and then when I'm really into a turn, but that's fair enough considering it's not a full on bucket. The seat belt works fine for holding me in now, so I don't think I'll need a seat belt tensioner, nor a harness any time soon.
All in all, these are probably the perfect seat for me. They compromise well between street and track (perhaps even so far as the perfect balance?), which is the direction I want to take the car. Can't recommend the seats enough.
