Great photos, thanks Alex.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

That white NA with the pink piping isn't helping the "MX5s aren't gay" cause

Nice pics though...!

And yeah, I agree with that NBs sticker... NAs ARE best!

That's the car that won the 1.8 N/A award - and made slightly more rwkw than my SE. :P

I believe it's the Racing Beat Type 1
See Here
It's not a full front bar either
The Type I Kit is designed as a half-shell that fits over the existing nose to allow for easy installation. (This nose does not replace the existing nose.) The upper edge of this nose fits into the groove below the parking lights.

Yup - you can just make out the Racing Beat logo on the right side (of picture). The RB noses for the NAs are great. RB type 2 is a full replacement, but costs about 3 times as much. :|

why doesn't every1 just make a shorter pod pipe like this?

looks like less travel = more response
less heat soak from extractors..

or am i wrong?

A few reasons I didn't
Alarm siren box is there in mine, head recirc pipe thing should really have a catch can if not going back to intake, wiring for temp and flow meter, would need to make custom box to be anywhere near legal.
Also there is some talk about the length changing the torque but haven't seen any tests

generally it's agreed that you get less torque at low / mid revs with a short intake like that, but top end response is better.

ok thanks for clearing that up..

also what are the advantages of running aluminium intake pipes over the stock rubber?
sound?
ability 2 reflect/not absorb heat?
get busy living or get busy dying
